Utility Pets - Science, Design and Hypothetical Products

Born in Naples in 1975, Elio Caccavale graduated with an MA in Design Products from the Royal College of Art, London in 2003. He has since divided his time between commercial consultancy, research, teaching and writing. His projects involve collaboration with scientists, social scientists and ethicists and explore the emerging technologies and the effects that they might have on life in the future.

Elio Caccavale is currently associate lecturer on the product design course at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (part of the University of the Arts). He has taught as visiting lecturer on the Interaction Design course at the Royal College of Art and the Architectural Association.

Elio lives and works in London.
