Free Network Visible Network (poster)

Trained as an artist, Diego Diaz learned programming, electronics, and machining simply because these are the tools used to create the fabric of today's world.

His works combines art, science and engineer concepts to reconfigure technologies for the full range of human experience, specially for those that take places on the public space, transformed and multiplied by the interlayer of virtual and real world. His research focus on social communication modified by technologies, mainly on those aspects related with design of environments for social relations, urban strategies and networked experience on the city.

His primary concern has been to employ multimedia technology in order to build new interfaces for the communication within physical and digital space, establishing continuity between the old and new forms of social interaction.

Diego Diaz combines an international media artist career with a strong academic and research experience. From 2000 to 2005 he was member of Light Laboratory, a leader institution in aesthetics of the digital culture and art creation with digital tools. He was Assistant Professor of Interactive Media Project and Digital Tools at the Polytechnic University of Valencia in Spain. Since 2006 he is Research Associate at Interaction and Entertainment Research Centre, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. His works has been exhibit at ISEA04, ISEA06, Singapore Art Museum, EACC, Daejeon Museum, Sonar05, etc. And he was co-organizing Chair of the prestigious conferences ACE2005 and ACE2006 and Art Chair of DIME2006.
