Cambridge University Moving Image Studio and Digital Studios, Cambridge, UK Trained as an architect, Giorgos Artopoulos explores the ways geometry, mathematics and genetics; animation and cinema; modern philosophy and historical architecture conflate in an amalgam of ideas defining new roles for architectural design. He received the Best Inter- national Short Film award in Mestre Film Festival, Venice; 1st Prize in industrial design competition (‘Digital Drawing Table for the Architect’); participated in 11th and 12th Bien- nale of Young Creators of Europe; film festivals (Victoria Independent Film Festival, Can- ada, JVC Tokyo Video Festival); and received awards in art exhibitions in Greece and abroad (in New York, Munich and Cyprus). |
