The Pinkie Platform
A network based electronics prototyping platform for artists and designers

The Pinkie Platform (poster)

Vincent Leclerc recently completed a master’s degree in the Tangible Media Group at the MIT Media Laboratory. He currently works on developing new platforms that allow designers to explore physical structures augmented with sensing and computational capabilities. His research focuses on the exploration of augmented building materials that combine a discrete internal structure with a soft and organic material quality to relax the rigidity of structure and form in previous manipulable building block approaches.

Vincent has also been involved with XS Labs, a design and r&d studio based in Montreal. There, he developed several lines of interactive wearables and computing fabrics that were showcased throughout North America at various fashion shows and wearable computing symposiums.

He was also part of several important exhibitions among which was the first web-based exhibition at the National Museum of Fine-Arts of Quebec in 2002. His work has been published in CHI, ID Magazine, Rhizome, MAKE, We-Make-Money-Not-Art and others.
