Ursula Damm studied at the Academy of Art in Düsseldorf and took a post-graduate degree at the Academy of Media Arts –KHM- in Cologne with Valie Export. In 1995, she began to develop interactive installations dealing with the movement of people in public spaces. She directed a research project for the development of tracking software for interaction in real time and space, www.inoutsite.de. She has had solo exhibitions at the Goethe House in New York, at "NeuerAachenerKunstverein", Aachen and at the Kunstsammlung NRW Düsseldorf, K20, Germany (at the fountain wall); Her work has also been featured in group exhibitions at the Ludwig Forum for International Art in Aachen, Germany; the Ludwig Museum in Koblenz, Germany, Conde Ducque, Madrid, Spain and the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum Cologne, Germany, She has also participated in several international festivals, including Ars electronica 1999, Linz, Austria; ISEA 2002, Nagoya, Japan, Festival New Film New Media Montreal, Canada (honorary mention category interactive art) and Ars electronica 2006 (honorary mentioon category interactive art). Currently she is a guest-professor at the faculty of media of the Bauhaus-University Weimar.
