San Jose State University is Academic Host and sponsor of ISEA2006 and The Pacific Rim New Media Summit. CADRE is sponsor of Karaoke Ice residency with Katie Salen, Nancy Nowacek and Marina Zurkow and On Translation: Social Networks by Antoni Muntadas.

San José State provides a comprehensive university education, granting bachelor's and master's degrees in 134 areas of study. Quality teaching and small classes are a priority at SJSU, where tenured professors teach introductory as well as advanced courses. One of the 200 top research universities in the nation, SJSU offers rigorous course work and research opportunities to more than 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students in eight colleges.

The CADRE Laboratory for New Media is an interdisciplinary academic and research program dedicated to the experimental use of information technology and art. A theoretical and critical orientation provides a conceptual context in which artistic activities are defined. Faculty and students have participated in the evolution of media technology for over 15 years.
