Computer Vision for Artists

Andrew Senior is a British computer vision researcher and new-media artist based in New York. He works in the Exploratory Computer Vision Group of IBM's T.J.Watson Research Center and has written many scientific papers and patents on his work in vision and pattern recognition in addition to co-authoring the book “Guide to Biometrics”. He has co-chaired workshops on face and gesture recognition at the International Conference on Computer Vision and was co-chair of the 2005 ACM Multimedia Interactive Arts program. His video and computer-based art works have been shown in exhibitions in New York and England, and a recent Artificial Life video work "Couch Potato Farm" received a special mention in the international Vida 8.0 competition. He received his PhD from Cambridge University and has studied art at SUNY Purchase and the Art Students League of New York. He currently lives and works in New York City, USA.
