Interested in the arts and technology? Your help is needed to transform San Jose into the international center for the intersection of technology and the arts. The inaugural ZeroOne festival has arts events taking place in the open air, in museums and galleries, at the Convention Center festival tent and roaming around the streets and air space of San Jose. ZeroOne is about artists making art using technology as a tool, but not about technology for its own sake. This festival is concurrent with the 13th International Symposium on Electronic Art – ISEA 2006.
As a volunteer you can help artists install their work (from 1st – 6th), interact with the general public, assist artists with their artworks, work at the symposium, act as docents and help visitors take part in the many interactive events taking place from August 7th – 13th. Help with de-installation on the 14th and 15th August is also needed.
All volunteers serving 8 hours or more will receive a free festival pass good for all non-ticketed events. All volunteers serving over 20 hours will receive a pass to ISEA2006 – the 13th International Symposium on Electronic Art – a symposium drawing the world’s foremost thinkers and cultural theorists discussing the latest practices involving new media and art.

Technical skills would be helpful, as would an interest in the arts and in helping turn San Jose into the Arts and Technology Cultural Center. All festival volunteers must be reliable, enthusiastic and should attend an orientation on Sunday 6th August at 5pm.
