Shona Kitchen graduated from Architecture and Interiors at the Royal College of Art, London, in 1997. An internationally renowned multidisciplinary designer, she focuses her attention across several fields: exhibition design, retail and furniture design as well as conceptual narrative architectural proposals.

Her work explores the intersections between the physical and virtual and the ways in which they manifest themselves as new spatial experiences. Using technology to enhance and enrich rather than distract from the culture and aesthetics of their surroundings, her projects are realised by means of a network of collaborations with individuals specialising in a range of different disciplines.

From 1997-2004 she ran KRD (Kitchen Rogers Design, www.krd-uk.com), her own London based design partnership together with Ab Rogers. For five years she was also a part time Research Fellow in Interaction Design Department at the Royal College of Art, London (1997-2002, www.interaction.rca.ac.uk).

At the RCA she worked closely with designer Ben Hooker on several EU funded research projects, the latest being 'Edge Town', part-funded by IBM, which was exhibited at the 9th Venice Architecture Biennale, 2004.

She currently teaches in Design Products at the Royal College of Art, London, and lectures internationally.
