At the ZeroOne San Jose festival you will encounter all kinds of ways to investigate the communal experience. There are pigeons with backpacks checking out air quality, red balloons with 60 foot strings and surveillance cameras that you can check out to play a city-discovery game, stories of the places along the route of the VTA, and an exhibit that questions who does/should own nano-space. Many components of community connect us across the lines that might differentiate us - air quality, sound pollution, common and un-common histories, all the qualities of home and place are a part of our community domain, even sub-molecular space. Under the theme of community domain artists explore the hybrid nature of cities in all its varieties of geography, ethnicity, race, belief systems, and affinity groups. |
